JESSICA H

B.A., COTA/L

Hi there, I’m Jess!

Working with children in all walks of life has been a lifelong passion of mine. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Currently, I’m a licensed occupational therapist working and living in Chicago. My mission is to provide childcare services to the neurodiverse pediatric population. Having worked in therapeutic clinics specifically for children with developmental disabilities, I know there’s an acute need in our society for sitters that have diverse experiences working on sensory strategies to build routines, promote healthy sleep habits and create enjoyable activities. Sensory Sitters bridges that gap between pediatric therapeutic services (occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, social workers and other health care professionals) and general caregivers. Sensory Sitters prides itself on consistently providing exemplary, professional services in a deeply caring, nurturing and fun environment.

Mission

Sometimes it can be frustrating finding the right care for your child. You need someone that’s dependable, fun, creative, organized, and very punctual. Date night, full-time, occasional, part-time reoccurring, or emergency respite services are provided so caregivers can have what they need as well as their child’s needs.

Vision

As an occupational therapy assistant, I heard stories that caregivers needed time to themselves or to do everyday activities but didn't think they could leave their child with someone they trusted for more than a few hours.

Our vision is to have children in the city of Chicagoland area and their families have more time to live, explore, love, and learn.
